It's only sort of borderline "fandom" related, but... anti-Stratfordians. I just can't with their idiotic theories. I will freely grant that the plays are probably more collaborative (mostly with the men in his company) than is definitively known, but William Shakespeare the Stratford Man wrote Shakespeare's plays.

There's unfortunate implications with that theory as well - that a "simple man" from Stratford couldn't possibly have been able to write those plays.

I hadn't thought about some of it being collaborative, but yes, you're probably right about that.

...but but but but reading the tinhat conspiracy theories is so entertaining! Why you gotta take my fun from me, ginainthekingsroad?? (J/K)

But seriously, Derek freaking Jacobi is one. I am not even kidding.

I know, and it's depressing. Mark Rylance, too. D:

reading the gigantic flame war on the Wikipedia page for anti-Stratfordians was probably some of the best entertainment that site has given me, ever, so at least they have that going for them

Ha, yes, I don't know why anyone would take those guys seriously.

If you haven't already seen it, I recommend the Brows Held High review of Anonymous. It is delicious.

I stan for Kit Marlowe as Shakespeare only because the story is so bad-ass, rather than because I'm actually convinced. In my heart of hearts I know Will wrote those plays.
