(Anonymous) 2014-12-30 01:07 am (UTC)(link)I do take exception to calling yourself a canon shipper if a pairing isn't canon yet (I say that having done so myself in the Harry Potter fandom), but seriously, not all of us are slash-hating (what if one of the canon pairings we like is a homosexual pairing?) ass-kissing elitists. For me, the reason I love fanfic is because I like to speculate and work within what we already know. So it makes sense to me that I would ship canon pairings, or pairings that are most likely to be canon at some point. I know not everyone thinks that way, and that's fine. I don't judge you, please don't judge me.
(And yes, I realize not all canon shippers/so-called canon shippers have been so civil. But some of us really do just like canon ships.)
