why does he need to be redeemable? he was a total shit head, but I also don't think that a character has to be redeemable or ultimately a good person to be a good character. he was an interesting dude who did some good things and a bunch of terrible things. I don't think people should paint him as satan, but I also don't see the point of people defending his actions. even rowling doesn't think he was a hero (even at the end of the series) and calls him a bully who happened to be brave
