Re: Internet addiction?

Internet addiction is a legitimate issue. Like most addiction and dependency it likely stems from a pre-existing emotional condition that causes you to feel the need to indulge in escapism.

If you have started to feel like your internet use is impacting your life, it's time to seek some counselling for it and to also address those other issues. Trying to control the symptoms of your addiction without examining the underlying cause is like putting a band aid on a gangrenous wound and hoping that will solve the problem.

Find some resources in your area. There should be psychologists that specialize in addiction. Beware of unlicensed therapists who promise painless or easy results (e.g. kick your addiction through hypnosis).

Good luck, OP.
