I don't play games, but I feel the same way about music I books. I feel really guilty when I spend money on things I want, so I only buy albums from bands I really really like and pirate the rest of the music. I have also quit buying books enterily (Because they're usually even more expensive than CDs, and since I rarely reread books I can get less hours of entertainment from a book than from a CD). I only read fic and books I can get through my uni's library.

if you have a kindle, you might be able to find a library nearby and check books out on that. It's more expensive in the beginning, but for the price of the kindle and the library card you get unlimited books!

I actually like to read books on my phone now. I can't use e-readers or tablets -- my eyes glaze over in seconds -- but I'm staring at my phone all the time anyway (how did I live before I got a smartphone last month?) so I might as well spend that time reading a book. I don't know why it works when tablets don't.
