Honestly, I'd prefer Mia or Maya or another female character rather than Iris. She knew she had to get her sister's property back from Phoenix but then dawdled for (at the very least) weeks. With his life on the freaking line. And given that her sister is a murderous psychopath, that's pretty inexcusable, in my opinion.

And where the hell was she when Phoenix was charged with murder?

Suffice it to say, I'm not the biggest fan of this pairing.

In general, this fandom has a lot more viable M/M pairings than het. There are some good F/F pairings, too, like Athena/Juniper or Franziska/Adrian.

I can't actually think of a single het paring that isn't a bit weird. Even Mia/Diego has the whole murder thing and a bit of a sexual harassment vibe.

I have to agree with that. My fave het pairing in the fandom is Ron/Desiree, and it's canon, but it's all kinds of wrong. They love each other but they don't communicate well at all.

The M/M pairings are so much better in this fandom. I can't find a F/F pairing I like yet. Aura/Metis would be nice if I could square away my reservations about Metis. It's nice that it's almost canon though, along with FRanziska/Adrian, although that pairing is as bad as Phoenix/Dolly for lethal levels of dangerous manipulation.

I never thought Iris coming back since her plotline felt very closed and not like she was a regular.

But I do think it's kind of ridiculous how they keep aging up Phoenix and Edgeworth but bring in younger and younger girls all the time. Like these games are silly and I guess I can accept everyone being a genius at law (even though they're not) but it's kind of obvious they're more concerned about the women being young and cute then anything.

I wouldn't mind some more Franziska though... I love her <3

Not especially relevant, but I wonder why a lot of people keep putting Athena in the "assistant" category and never Apollo. She's a lawyer herself, if a rookie, and she has the same role as Apollo in the Wright Anything Agency - but I've never seen anyone saying he's an "assistant", too, even though both assisted each other and Nick through the game as junior partners.

Apollo is totally an assistant.

And he's the only one I ship with Phoenix as he's the only one that first met Phoenix when both of them were proper adults. I understand Phoenix/Maya, but she not only is young, she acts young, and more than ever in PLvPW, when her and Luke hung out together and both acted like kids.

I really like Athena, but on replaying the game, I'm struck by how randomly violent she is. It's Franziska all over again. I find it hard to get over the violence, no matter how much I love the rest of their characterization.

Meh. I was never a big fan of that pairing, and I never will be.
