Take it from a certified nut, OP. If it makes you happy and doesn't hurt anyone, you're probably fine. Mary Sue fic never killed puppies.

That said, if it bothers you and you feel like you're overusing the skill, you can always study and learn new coping skills without going cold turkey. It's not a strict either/or thing. You can very easily research stuff like CBT, DBT, coping with anxiety, or whatever happens to be relevant to your situation, and keep on with the Mary Sue fun however much you like.

But if you're just worried about being weird, I'd say there are far worse things in life.

Last year's was such a downer. I didn't get it. WTF kind of depressing Christmas special was that?

I haven't really watched DW lately, so I haven't seen it for that reason. TBH I think that whole special was one of the things that turned me off of the show completely. Not the only reason, but.

Honestly, I'd prefer Mia or Maya or another female character rather than Iris. She knew she had to get her sister's property back from Phoenix but then dawdled for (at the very least) weeks. With his life on the freaking line. And given that her sister is a murderous psychopath, that's pretty inexcusable, in my opinion.

And where the hell was she when Phoenix was charged with murder?

Suffice it to say, I'm not the biggest fan of this pairing.

I studied her twice, once in high school, again in college; I liked her poems both times, but I appreciated her more with a professor who pointed out how non-depressing Emily Dickinson actually is. Also, "Wild Nights" went way over my head in high school; I thought Emily was talking about getting drunk. Well, that part may have had something to do with what actually happened in that poem, but....
