Gore in movies. Like the Saw/Hostel kind of horror movies. The older I get, the less I can handle it.

I'm super squeamish and could never handle gore. I used to hate science class in school because of those anatomy videos taken inside the human body. I would hide behind my folder and just listen to it without watching. (And I'm glad my teacher was understanding and didn't insist I look at the screen.)

What made it worse was I had this class RIGHT before lunch and then I didn't want to eat because I was so grossed out by the videos. I was actually losing weight from it till I started putting up my folder and took notes according to the narration.

(I still think the absolute WORST video ever was one about digestion where it somehow showed the inside of someone's mouth while they were chewing food. SERIOUSLY?!)

Same. I think horror seems less outlandish and more real maybe as we get older?

Not necessarily. I've had the exact opposite reaction - I don't seek out gore, because it doesn't make for an interesting movie in my opinion unless there's a lot more than just the blood and guts there, but I've gone from kind of squeamish about on-screen violence to being that person who critiques the volume and force of blood spray, or plays "guess that unidentifiable organ".

Severe emotional distress, though, does occasionally have me reaching for a blanket to haul over my head, much to the amusement of the folks I watch movies with.
