I don't hate Hagrid, but I do think he's a bit daft. He can't even spell properly.

And I always thought that instead of being made a teacher after his record was cleared, he should rather have gone back to school and finished his education. He'd even have been in Harry's year I think :D

By the way, aren't lots of people who died written or mentioned in fanfic? It would be really shit otherwise!

OT, and I'm sure I'm not the first person to ask this, but do Squibs just not go to school in wizarding Britain?

That's certainly the impression I got. I guess their parents could send them to Muggle school if they're on top of things.

I bet they don't if they're from a pureblood family, and end up with pity jobs like Filch. Mrs Figg seems more on top of things, though, so maybe she either married out or got some Muggle education or both.
