Well, I mean, Tumblr is an unbelievably terrible platform for writing. I could understand why someone wouldn't want to clutter up their blogs or other people's dashes with fic (often posted without cuts), so following makes the most sense to get more of what you like without having to worry too much about it.

I can completely understand that, but commenting or liking doesn't do that. If you comment on a post or like it, no one knows but you and the poster, so that logic doesn't make sense when it comes to those actions. I wonder if maybe some people feel obligated to reblog anything that they like or comment on.

Ah, I see what you mean. I think it's probably different for everyone, but for me personally, my likes are more or less a storage facility for when I make a queue out of everything there so it reblogs. But I could see why that wouldn't be the case.

Hmm, that's really interesting! I bet that's how a lot of people approach it, and that that's what's going on.

I basically only reblog things that I think are exceptionally good or that I think fit in with the theme of my blog. However, I like anything that I, well, like or for which I just want to show support.

I'd wondered why I sometimes saw people saying, "I'm cleaning out my likes." Now that you've explained how you go about things, it makes a lot more sense!
