I agree with your apathy about him, he is, to me, the type of bumbling incompetent nice guy that makes me react like "Oh, him? Well hurry up to something more interesting." He just... does not inspire my interest.

I'm not a fan of Snape either. Over all I like Harry the best, I just think his interactions with Hagrid are not the most interesting parts of the books, even if they may be important to the plot.
