I first stumbled upon it at probably 8 or so, and found it boring and confusing. It was in fanfic form, and I generally skimmed those bits trying to find out when they got back to the action-y stuff. I actively started looking for it at about 14, and around then I ended up on the dedicated text-based porn sites, although I got scared off for a while shortly after first finding them. (I still question what would lead someone to have one of those things that gives you all sorts of information about your computer - the "your IP address is this, you're using this browser on this OS" type ones - on a forum dedicated entirely to particularly out-there fetishes.) I've been reading porny fanfic pretty consistently ever since I was 14, though.

Oh man there was this one oekaki I used to go to that had that going on... and it was the same deal- a lot of really uncommon kinks and fetishes getting represented.

I wasn't as smart about getting scared off though. I was way too interested to the plethora of human sexuality being fed to me through the computer screen.
