Re: Fandoms you miss

Mass Effect, sort of. I don't miss the drama, but I do miss coming up with all kinds of crazy/cracky ideas with friends on personal LJs, and looking at all the cool fan art and stuff. I drifted away from it shortly before ME3 due to interests changing and life issues at the time, and most of my friends bailed on it after the ME3 trainwreck. I don't even bother looking at the Tumblr side of things: I hear enough downwind from friends who are still active-ish in the fandom for me to stay away, lmao.

I guess I just miss the fandom synergy that my experience in ME fandom had... that's something my recent fandom experiences have sorely lacked.

F-Zero's another. Everything died after the shitty anime series and tie-in games, and there hasn't been anything new for the last 11-12 years (Nintendo recent remarks of 'lol we ran out of ideas' doesn't help), and that's not counting Captain Falcon's appearances in 2 (3, if you count SSB3DS) Smash Bros titles since then. The fandom back in the day was largely competition-based with emphasis on time trials, though. Very little creative output, though I suspect if there is any lurking on Tumblr -or Pixiv- these days, it's probably more focused on that than competitions. I haven't really looked.
