Please don't belittle people with actual anxiety disorders.

If you're having so-called "anxiety attacks" over your bitterness about a TV show, you don't need help, you need someone to point out "pathetic" in the dictionary for you.

I'll bite. What's a real, accepted reason to have an anxiety attack if you have an actual anxiety disorder?

Not OP, but...

When I was at the height of my panic disorder (before I started medication), I had a massive panic attack when I found out one of my favorite musicians cheated on his wife.

Yeah, I can look back on it now and think it is totally ridiculous and unreasonable, but you can't really choose when to have a panic attack. That's why they're called attacks.

Wow, really?

Anxiety doesn't have to be rational. In fact...it's pretty much not. How do you know OP isn't having "real" anxiety attacks? And what did they say that's "belittling" anyway?

You know, being this invested in a TV show is actually a good indication that this anon is having some kind of mental issue at the moment. So try to think of that investment, as well as the anxiety attacks, as symptoms of a greater issue.. and practice some empathy.

Well... I have anxiety. Like, legit, on meds for it, diagnosed, etc.

And you want to know one of the reasons that ultimately got me to seek help?

Blowing up over a TV show and having an intervention by friends over my attitude.
