Anxiety attacks? You need a new hobby, OP.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-06 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
You either have deeper issues or you just want to identify with Stiles.
Either way, that's really sad. It's a tv show. Figure out your childhood traumas.

You fucked an entire season?! Way to go!

(Anonymous) 2015-01-07 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
I'm going to need pics of that, actually.

Well-played, Anon. From what I hear, Steven Moffat has fucked entire TV SERIES. Even the episodes he wasn't involved with! *nods wisely*

Wow. Well, I wouldn't say my feelings were anywhere near as... extreme as yours, OP, but I really did hate the idea of S4 and swore I wasn't going to watch it. But I lied to myself, because I actually did end up watching it and it wasn't that bad. I mean, considering it's a kind of campy show about high school werewolves.

I do miss the characters we lost in S3, but that's what fanfiction is for, right? And some of the new cast additions seem promising.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-07 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
Didn't one fourth of the audience run away (screaming or otherwise) during the last season? You are already off to a good start.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-07 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
Aside from certain characters leaving the show, which sucked, I honestly don't understand why so many people hate season 3. I thought it was the best one

(Anonymous) 2015-01-07 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
My reasons for hating it (other than people leaving):
-The guy who has spent the first two seasons whining how he doesn't want to be a werewolf, is now suddenly Teh Bestest Werewolf Evar, Lol, without having to work for the power at all.

-So far not mentioned lost relatives appear out of the woodwork for ridiculous reasons (I hate this trope with a passion).

-Villain overload. Why even bring Gerard back?

-Stupid romances. Allison & Isaac. So stabbing someone now constitutes as foreplay? Lydia & Danny & their murderous boyfriends.

+ a truckload of smaller complaints.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-07 09:16 am (UTC)(link)
Those... are basically all my favourite things about season 3. I am beginning to understand why I am odds with the rest of fandom about this.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-07 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
Characters introduced in season 2 were unceremoniously killed off or put on a bus, serious canon discontinuities with previous seasons, missing!relative who is then later put on a bus, zero character development where it matters (Scott especially), at least a plot hole an episode, no sense of timeline, etc.

The series itself never had brilliant writing, but the bad writing really stepped up in season 3. It may have been enjoyable to some, but it had way more problems than good points.

Please don't belittle people with actual anxiety disorders.

If you're having so-called "anxiety attacks" over your bitterness about a TV show, you don't need help, you need someone to point out "pathetic" in the dictionary for you.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-07 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
I'll bite. What's a real, accepted reason to have an anxiety attack if you have an actual anxiety disorder?

Not OP, but...

(Anonymous) 2015-01-07 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
When I was at the height of my panic disorder (before I started medication), I had a massive panic attack when I found out one of my favorite musicians cheated on his wife.

Yeah, I can look back on it now and think it is totally ridiculous and unreasonable, but you can't really choose when to have a panic attack. That's why they're called attacks.

Wow, really?

Anxiety doesn't have to be rational. In fact...it's pretty much not. How do you know OP isn't having "real" anxiety attacks? And what did they say that's "belittling" anyway?

(Anonymous) 2015-01-07 09:18 am (UTC)(link)
You know, being this invested in a TV show is actually a good indication that this anon is having some kind of mental issue at the moment. So try to think of that investment, as well as the anxiety attacks, as symptoms of a greater issue.. and practice some empathy.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-07 03:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Well... I have anxiety. Like, legit, on meds for it, diagnosed, etc.

And you want to know one of the reasons that ultimately got me to seek help?

Blowing up over a TV show and having an intervention by friends over my attitude.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-07 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
I'm sorry, OP. I hope you get your anxiety under control. Maybe take a break from fandom for a while, which I know sounds condescending but can actually help.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-07 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not reacting as badly as you, OP, but I also just want the show to end. I've basically started ignoring everything past season 2 when writing fic, aside from maybe the occasional cameo by Cora.

Or you could accept that sometimes actors don't stay with shows.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-07 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
And that sometimes when giving them their exit from a show that's at least part horror, their characters get killed off. It sucks, but there you go.

You probably should step back, OP, as others have said. Maybe find a new fandom? And make an effort from the get-go to not get overly invested in it.

wow you're so edgy and cool i bet all the guys on reddit think you're the shit

(Anonymous) 2015-01-07 07:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Season 3 A was absolute perfection, and the ending gives a lot of closeure. The show could easily have ended with Lunar Ellipse.

3 B was slightly worse and season 4 is pure shit.
