I'm with you, anon. The plot of Reichenbach especially made no sense whatsoever. And I'm not fond of that portrayal of Sherlock. But I'm glad your mom has something to be fannish about and is sharing it with you. Find her some wonderful tumblr art. There's some really great stuff you can be introducing her to.

When my mom was sick I was so very desperate to find anything, just anything at all to comfort her.

Forgot to say: hang in there. And take care of yourself, too.

Secret-maker:

Thank you for this nice comment. Yes, I am glad it brings her happiness despite my non-enjoyment. I’m going to get her that "Sherlock" book for her birthday. And I’ve never written a celebrity, but I was thinking about sending a photo to BC’s management with a note asking if he would write her a short, personalized "Keeping you in my thoughts" message on the back. Does anyone think he would do that? How long does it take to get a response from a celeb, usually?

I'm sure if you wrote them they would bring it to his attention. It's worth a shot, anyway! Good luck. <3

That's a really sweet idea, OP! I don't know if there's anyway to predict how long it would take (when I was a kid I wrote to a lot of my favorite authors, and usually got a response--most often a form letter but with a note at least with my name handwritten--and it ranged from a month to almost 8 months, iirc), but I think the odds are pretty good he would do it.

(FWIW, I often notice plot holes, errors and so on more when I'm stressed about other things--I think it's because my brain considers that a safer place to nitpick/get annoyed with/rant at (even just in my head) than whatever RL problem I'm dealing with, so it's a compartmentalizing thing.)
