You can headcanon whatever interpretation you want, but it's still not actually canon. The creators don't have to acknowledge it, the rest of the fandom doesn't have to agree, and the people you're discussing an installment with aren't actually evil meaniepantses if they stare at you like you've grown a third head when you start spouting off about your pet theory like it's something that actually appeared in text.

Which is what most of the people who pull this kind of shit don't seem to understand. Headcanon whatever the hell you like, but it doesn't erase or alter what actually happens in canon.
