So, instead of talking about how I enjoy or do not enjoy any particular part of fandom immediately upon entering a discussion about said fandom...

...I must immediately list all the problems about said fandom so that the Thought Police won't drag me away.

I'm sure all the more experienced fans will be sick of the dead horse flogging, and the newer fans will be driven away because of an honest fear of flame wars. And all because some people can't or won't understand that there is a healthy and even commonplace separation between fact and fiction. I don't have to be constantly lectured about how evil the bad guys are in any given story. I don't have to be told that anti heroes are a bad moral example. I'm not two years old. I'm also not stupid enough to try flying out a window because that's a common superpower in fiction. In short, I don't have to cater to your inability to understand that a love of dark themes in fiction doesn't automatically correlate with actual IMMORAL BEHAVIOR.
