Of all the characters in the DA series to be considered asexual, Zevran is probably the furthest from it, imo. Shale or Sten, maybe, but definitely not Zevran.

I agree that Zevran is one of the last characters that would be asexual, but I love the hoops that people jump through to try and justify the idea of it.

I don't get why you wouldn't headcanon someone else as asexual... Like, anyone else. The words asexual and Zevran do not go together.

Granted, if that's your headcanon then whatever, it isn't harming me, I just don't get it or agree.

I tend to think the DA fandom is toxic in that headcanons can't just be headcanons. Like people who RP non-binary/trans Lavellans calling out people don't include them in their own Solavellan headcanons, or people who get mad at fanartists for depicting Sera as she looks in game and not her "brown concept headcanon form".

It's all well and good to have a headcanon, and it's well and good to want representation for yourself. However, I think it's ridiculous to expect everyone around you to conform to your headcanons, or agree that your headcanons are totally feasible, especially when they are so counter to actual canon that you might as well just make an OC and call it a day.

I've not seen any of this behavior but this is one of the dumbest things I've read in quite a while. Every Inquisitor is different anyway, you can pretty much fill-in-the-blank with your character, why would anyone else need to 'acknowledge' it? And the fanart stuff is just baffling. If you like the concept art better than the final model that's perfectly fine, but why would you get testy with people not drawing it? (Most people do tend to go with whatever ends up canon, at least as far as character models go.)

TBH I always thought 'Asexual Zevran' was a joke. D: Guess not.

WHY?! Why, when there are lots of party members who might actually BE asexual (Sten, Shale, Nate, Sigrun, Velanna, Justice, Finn, Solas, Josie, etc.) legitimately, without doing mental gymnastics to squeeze them into the label.

I'm pretty sure Justice is asexual, if only because he is a spirit of the Fade.

I might have considered Fenris because of his past, but even then there is Isabela if you don't romance him so it doesn't work.

Text: “Asexual Zevran” is the stupidest headcanon I’ve ever seen. He’s shamelessly promiscuous and flirtation. His Feastday Prank Item is a chastity belt, and his party banter makes it clear that the idea of chastity doesn’t suit him. Sure, his trainwreck of an upbringing might have given him some unhealthy ideas, but regardless, sex is something he genuinely enjoys and pursues. Of any character in the game, he’s the least likely to be ace.

“But asexual people need more representation!” cries Tumblr. As if video games are just full of bisexual male characters? Don’t try to put a Social Justice spin on it, when all you’re doing is stealing from another minority group. That does not make sense.

I'm usually all about letting people headcanon whatever they want, but the idea of Zevran being asexual is just... are they even playing the same series I am? Zevran tries to get into everyone's pants ever unless you very firmly tell him no. :|

sure, but Zevran is very much not that kind of character. If anything, it's the romance part that gives him trouble in the game. He seems perfectly fine sleeping with anyone that shows remote interest in doing so with him, but he was very skittish at first about getting into an actual relationship with the Warden (probably either because he doesn't tend to do stable relationships or people don't tend to want more than sex from him)

I wasn't saying what he is or isn't. I was saying that OP was incorrect in their assertion that headcanoning Zevran as ace is "stealing" from bi men.
