I got interested in an obscure show that I found through someone I follow mutually on tumblr. Now I think I'm more into it than she is and I want to write fanfic and cosplay from it. The problem is, I don't think this follower likes me and truthfully has been trying to give me that hint for a long time (the last time we talked outside of tumblr she treated me like an idiot, she never reblogs me and is always short when she answers my asks), so I feel like I'd be stealing a fandom that I don't have the right to.

I also might have posted this before. I don't remember.

Babe, the fandom is not solely hers, and there's not question of you having to have "a right to it." I hope you can let go of the idea you're somehow doing something wrong, and just enjoy the show and the activities you like. (And okay, maybe she doesn't like you for some reason. Doesn't mean you have to give up a think you enjoy. Really.)

No such thing as 'stealing' a fandom - if you're enjoying it, dive on in! She can always unfollow you if it's a problem, but you don't have to stop enjoying something just because someone else likes it. But you also don't have to be buddies over it.
