i'm concerned that we'll get a major conversative backlash because of how ridiculous the left has been acting

additionally it really concerns me that online activism seems more concerned about calling out and harming people for being un-pc instead of trying to educate thrm or come to an understanding

I got interested in an obscure show that I found through someone I follow mutually on tumblr. Now I think I'm more into it than she is and I want to write fanfic and cosplay from it. The problem is, I don't think this follower likes me and truthfully has been trying to give me that hint for a long time (the last time we talked outside of tumblr she treated me like an idiot, she never reblogs me and is always short when she answers my asks), so I feel like I'd be stealing a fandom that I don't have the right to.

I also might have posted this before. I don't remember.

I'm seriously not saying I think all Muslims are terrorists - I know they're not. At the same time, I don't understand why more Muslims aren't rising to the occasion and saying they've had enough. Why they haven't done it before. Yes, there's Christian extremists, but other Christians generally condemn them.

God, I feel like a horrible human being. I just wonder.

Every time I hear "all men are X" -- especially when "X" is some form of abuser/rapist/etc. from people that claim to be feminists -- all I can think of is how utterly victim blamey that sounds.

Like, if all men are rapist/abusers, then it's the woman's fault for staying with them, she should have known better, after all, that's how all men are, isn't it? Why was she around those men, when she should know all men are so bad?

Also, I really hope that this trend I've been seeing of "ironic misandry feminism" goes away/doesn't get to be too mainstream, because if it does, I will not keep calling myself a feminist.

I find nothing feminist about dehumanizing men, and insulting them in the name of feminism, while simultaneously claiming that that's what the patriarchy does, and feminism will help.

I want to write about social medias relationship with television shows for my BA paper. but no one seems to think it is a great idea. Not that anyone told me not to do it, but no one is telling me "oh Renate that sounds interesting you should definitely do that" which I know is a stupid thing to put on other people. But because of that I don't know if I will be brave enough to go through with it.

also: I don't have time to be much on f!s anymore and it isn't making me as sad as it would have been a year ago... Mostly because of all the Anons who harass other users.
