That's an interesting question. If you are referring toward sexual dimorphism, than yes, in general men tend to have a larger capacity to develope muscle mass than women do, or women have to work a hell of a lot harder to develop the same amount of muscle. Men in general are also a lot heavier than women and in some cases this may tip the balance if the woman is not skilled in some other form of combat or what have you when it comes to a fight of some sort.


Now if you mean on a socio-cultural level, it would really depend on the society you are examining. From a western perspective, men tend to be favored in environments where men are generally in positions of power. In places where women are in power you don't necessarily see as much of this. That isn't to say that within a company controlled by a woman who is a CEO, that doesn't necessarily mean that gender power imbalances don't exist at all, but it may also be dependent upon the industry itself.

In relationships it can vary from person to person completely.
