It's ONTD's favorite word after 'neckbeard'.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-10 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Pretty much. I've noticed "problematic" is basically the new dialog shut-down word after which anything anyone says is dismissed as just more ciswhitehetmale apologetics.

This. When someone points out how stupid SJWs and their arguments are, all the SJWs have to say is problematic someone is and that means they don't have to listen to them.

I'm co-signing this secret. I think I might've written it in my sleep.

Neckbeard is a good word, though.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-10 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
not really

it focuses on appearance rather than actions

like i don't have an issue with that because imo insults should actually be insulting (none of embarrassing shitlord stuff), but when it comes from the sj crowd who promotes body positivity it's incredibly hypocritical

I think it's starting to become more general, because I've been called a neckbeard even though I am female. So, it doesn't even make linguistic sense.

Sure it does, speaking as an incredibly hairy cis woman who desperately wishes that wasn't the case. I hope my behavior never earns me the label, though.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-11 03:42 pm (UTC)(link)
You never know. I got called it because I said I didn't like an incest ship and gave reasons why.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-11 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
For a beard that is on a neck, yes. For a person? No.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-11 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
If you're a bully, yes. Are you?

cry moar cheetos-fingers

It's amazing how incredibly correlative it is. Stereotypes exist for a reason.
