I wouldn't have minded the dwarf-chase if it hadn't went on so long. (This is pretty much a summary of how I feel about these films. Even the stuff that made me go, "Eh, that didn't need to be there", mostly I would've liked if it hadn't taken up so much time. That said, I still liked the films.)

I did wonder several times, "Wait, does he not have four legs?!" but I liked Cumberbatch's voice work and think Smaug still looked cool. (I would've preferred four legs too, but alas, it wasn't meant to be.)
