When the hallway light is turned off at my workplace. I work on the second floor of a building carved out of freakin' concrete cinderblocks practically, and the windows aren't very. So it's a tomb sometimes, and I have a hard time staying on task when it's cloudy outside, it gets so gloomy. So the lights being on are a big deal to me. And yet, my former boss and this sycophant who works on the far side of the second floor keep turning the lights in the hall off when they come through. I have too much affection for my former boss so I just say something snarky and make a point of turning them back on. The sycophant, otoh, is only doing it because he's a suck up and HIM I want to push out a window. It especially irritates me because he has to turn down another corridor to get to his office so it's not like the lights are affecting him in any way shape or form.

Also it bugs me when I'm served something in a restaurant and my food is touching.

Is there a reason why they say they do it?

I don't like when my food touches ever!

Believe it or not, my boss does it to save a buck off the energy bill. Which is insane because this is a large complex (let's say it's a state funded facility) and it probably costs 30k a month to power it. Turning off a hallway light isn't going to do jack to that bill. But it's going to make a somewhat gloomy-ish environment even worse for those who work there. The sycophant has no dog in that fight, so my guess is he does it because my former boss does it.

I have always hated most of my food touching. Mashed potatoes and corn, good. Curry and rice, double good. But my over easy eggs touching my pancakes, NOT GOOD.
