Doesn't "dubcon" have to do with an outside perspective? In the mind of the person engaging in the act, wouldn't it be a bit more defined as consensual or not? (having not had sex, I cannot say for sure)

I've seen dubcon be used for stuff like drunk sex etc as well. Or stories where you don't know consent happened. Or where there is consent, but the circumstances make you think consent might not have been made in a sound state of mind.

ah, my comment was not worded well at all. I meant like I think perhaps dubcon as a concept is more useful in fic than in RL applications.
