If you're going to feel bad about someone anyway, better the person who doesn't know how to write realism than yourself for not living up to unrealistic ideas.

Okay, but a lot of things are unrealistic because the people writing them set out to write fantasy, not because they're supposed to be realistic but the writers failed.
