Amusingly I am watching this show On Demand as I type this and I am right there with you OP. All of the Stone/Cassandra shipping.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-13 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
I'm watching them right now too!

I kind of love how it's Leverage 2.0 with a fantasy angle.

With a description like that, anon, I really hope you are willing to tell me more of what this show is about. Leverage was my guilty pleasure during a really bad year, and if there's a FANTASY Leverage...

*sits with expectant puppy eyes*

Late. Soooo late. But The Librarians is by Dean Devlin and John Rogers, who were two of the three masterminds behind Leverage. It's a follow up to a series of TV movies from the early 2000s (titled The Librarian, shockingly) that starred Noah Wyle and were kind of nerdy-Indiana Jones in tone. You don't really need to have seen them to understand though - the basic conceit is that there's a giant library in underground New York filled with all sorts of magical artifacts and it is the job of the Librarian to look after them.

The series introduces the Junior Librarians in a very Leverage-type way - you've got the thief, the mathematician, the (female) muscle and Christian Kane as the Oklahoma oil rigger who is also a secret art history genius. Think the magical artifacts of Warehouse 13, the case of the week mysteries of Supernatural, and the characters and tone of Leverage. It's FUN.

Oh man, then I might need to see this. It sounds like the geekiness I require, by a creative team I enjoyed! Is it on Netflix or something?

Are you me?

I don't just agree with you 100%, I was even thinking on making a secret about how much I'm looking forward to the Jenkins/Dulac backstory and how amazing it'll be if they do really follow through it.

Me too! I find both actors insanely hot (probably an unpopular opinion) and I want slash of that pairing like BURNING.

I was kind of put off by them throwing in a romance right off that bat, and I'd rather see Cassandra with Ezekiel (or with another women holy shit that was the best thing ever)...

But I totally agree with wanting more backstory on Jenkins.

[SPOILER]

They certainly seemed to be hinting at her flexibility in the fairy tales ep. She seemed to really be enjoying gals' attention. :D

Indeeeed. :DDD I'm not ashamed to admit I danced around the house a bit after that episode. And it was such a nice way of hinting at it too.

wait, is there authorial intent behind jake/cassandra? are people extrapolating from the trust issues thing? i don't care one way or the other, not into any romance at this point.

i want to know more about jenkins, too, and i want ezekiel to be a little more than a one dimensional, albeit charming, comic relief.

:o Thank you! :D

Yay! A het secret!

That's all I got.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-13 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
I prefer Cassandra with Ezekiel, but your way is good too OP. ;) Right there with you, though - in fact, I was thinking of making a similar secret last night when I was watching it.

Mostly I'm amused that I'm shipping so hard in a live-action TV show, I usually don't.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-13 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
I love how Red gave Kitty that dachshund puppy, even if it was an effort to help her get through her mood swings during menopause.

Me, too, OP, although man, I hate it that Noah Wiley doesn't seem to be fully in the show. The energy really picks up when his character is around. He's just so zany.

Text: (Pretty secret design? Ain’t nobody got time for that!)

I can’t believe how into this silly show’s romances I am. And how much I want Jake Stone to hug me and tell me he’s been paying attention to what I write in my notebooks. All my friends think I am indifferent to Christian Kane. Oops.

BS: I so want them to follow through on the implied Jankins/Dulac backstory. That would be amazing.

OMG watching the Science Fair episode right now, Cassandra is ADORABLE!

i was so endeared by her in the first 5 or so episodes, but between the focus on the character and the little girl shtick, i'm starting to sour on her real quick.

So... anyone more knowledgeable about Arthurian legends has any theory about Dulac's identity?

Spoilers for newest eps

(Anonymous) 2015-01-13 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Way too late, but dulac would be Lancelot and Jenkins Galahad (therefore they would be father and son, if they stick to one of the myths).

Anyone share what this show is about? I'm really intrigued!
