people who drink diet soda. drink water if you wanna be healthy. drink a normal soda if you wanna drink a soda. don't half ass it.

(this excludes people who need to limit their sugar intake for medical reasons, though.)

I honestly still drink diet for the taste, something about non-diet sodas (in general, not just the non-diet version of my preferred drink) just tastes off to me, like it's far too sweet. :/

I need to limit my sugar intake for medical reasons, and I don't drink diet soda, either. Partly because I think it tastes terrible, but partly because there are some studies that suggest artificial sweeteners aren't as innocuous as people thought and that they might still play a role in raising your blood sugar levels.

I drink mostly water.

Arggh. I have a friend who drinks Coke Zero and acts like it's somehow a healthy choice.

Heh. Maybe marginally healthier than regular Coke, but what annoys me sometimes is that people act like they HAVE to be able to drink some type of soda and there are no other options. Well no, there are plenty of other options besides soda as a beverage. You can go your entire life without ever needing to have either one.

Yeah, I had a friend in high school who'd say she had to have diet coke at the movies because she was heavy, but then she'd buy a huge bag of popcorn and sour patch kids.

I mean... do the math.

Speaking as a fat woman, maybe she wanted to have a soda and chips and candy but only the soda is available without calories? I mean, I drink maybe one soda every couple of months, but sometimes I'll eat big salads and fruit all day and feel less gross about also having a big piece of cake because at least I didn't eat the whole cake, you know? Yeah, diet sodas are not a weight loss panacea, but saying it would be better if she got the stuff with real sugar in is kind of disingenuous.

I prefer diet soda. The normal stuff gives me a headache and leaves my teeth feeling all sticky.

Hey, screw you, I've been drinking diet soda for forever, and have lost over 30 lbs, because the diet soda is my treat when I've been good all week and monitored my sugar and carbs. On the diet I'm on, just having a soda would kick me out of the carb burning, so I'm not about to cheat.
