Re: How would you adapt your favorites?

I wish that The Ear, The Eye, and the Arm would be adapted into a movie. It's such a good story, but it's set in a very advanced future with a lot of supernatural features with three major characters with special body parts (hence the title), so it would take a lot of money for effects that probably wouldn't normally be spent on a children's film.

But then I realized it would make an amazing animated feature! Or even if it was mixed live-action/animation (a la Mary Poppins), that'd be cool too.

I don't know the book but I definitely want to check it out. And I could see it being an amazing animated film.

The book is by Nancy Farmer, and it is GREAT. A Girl Named Disaster is less sci-fi-ish but is also really good. I blame those books for getting me sick of speculative fiction based solely in northwest Europe or the US. Because I knew I COULD BE READING FUTURE ZIMBABWE.

(Seriously, I need to reread these books again.)

Omg I was just thinking about this the other day. I would love it live action, but animated would probably be better.
