Animorphs would be a 2D animated show with a nice budget. And the Andalite deigns (anything andalite anyway) would be headed over by this artist: Taking a Walk

The cast would be done right a la voice actors and character designs. And there would be NO DUMBING DOWN ON EVENTS. Character WILL die and will die rather gruesomely. Think of how some of the deaths were handled in The Clone Wars, especially in the later seasons. They were still kid friendly, but left no doubts about what happened.
