and kind of offensive? I'm not adopted but if I were I don't think I'd like the insinuation that adopted siblings aren't ~~real~~ siblings.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-14 08:51 am (UTC)(link)Siblings could be related through adoption, but still never lived in the same house at the same time (one already having moved out before the other arrived, because of an age gap or complicated family situation). They would probably feel the bond wasn't that strong and perhaps not even really consider themselves siblings, except in the most technical sense.
In the Loki & Thor case, they were brought up together from the time they were little kids, so my brain sees it as incest if they get together, even though they're not related by blood. Lack of fic warnings puzzles me. Even with the other example, I'd like a warning in fics. Even if the characters don't see themselves as siblings, it's still an issue.
