Michael Fassbender

I usually swing towards the ladies, but I finished watching Inglorious Basterds, and he is fine as hell. Any recommendations for other things that he's done? (Other than the X-Men movies, because I'm already planning on watching them.)

Yeah, I have no better suggestions for you, but I'm here to say that X-Men Days of Future past gave me a serious crush on the man.

That's definitely on my to-watch list.

MY TIME HAS COME!

All the movies he did with Steve McQueen are great. Especially Shame (where you get to see the Fassboner) and 12 Years A Slave.

He had a small role in Band of Brothers which is worth the watch for hot guys.

He has a pretty big part in 300. I don't like the movie (or his hair) but he is cut as fuck in it!

Eden Lake is a great horror movie but has a good bit of gore. He was the best part of Prometheus, imho.

Most of his other movies are meh.

Holy crap, I didn't realize he was in 300, lol. Watched that a long time ago, but I don't think I could sit through it again. Thank you for the recs!

Yeah, I really do not like 300. Fassbender was the only thing that got me through it.

Seconding Shame (the movie was intense, fair warning. And the most pornographic scene made me cry, because shit...you'll see)and whatever McQueen's made.

You can find the Devil's Whore on youtube (I found it on a John Simm binge)
A Dangerous Method, Jane Eyre (I just love that story so...), and this movie may ruin him for you, but Fish Tank, which I think I've only seen parts of...you should check out the synopsis.

Ooh, thanks.

Please don't.

He may be attractive, but he's also a brutal woman beater. Be a bettr person and boycott his movies.

Oh no, what?

Re: Michael Fassbender

NAYRT: His ex Sunawin Andrews filed a restraining order against him in 2010 (several months after they had split), and alleged that he was violently physically abusive to her multiple times in 2009; including breaking her nose and dragging her with his car, which caused an ovarian cyst to burst, causing extreme pain.

However, she later withdrew the order, and the claims altogether. There is no confirmed evidence of ANY of the abuse, no police investigation, and no further legal action. I cannot tell you whether or not Ms. Andrews' claims are true, or why she withdrew the order/claims. Is it true, or is it a vicious rumour?

Wow, that is really disappointing to hear. :/ It's difficult to deduce whether something like that is true, but yeah. Still really uncool to hear.

Yeah, see if there had been any other allegations from ANY other of Fassbender's (many) GFs maybe I would believe it. But one allegation, from one person with literally no proof (broken nose + burst ovarian cyst would produce some evidence) and who dropped it for no reason?

Not to mention just being dragged by a car would produce loads of physical evidence - abrasions, jacked-up joints, etc. For it only to cause an injury that could likely only be discovered (if at all) via ultrasound seems mighty fishy.

A broken nose would be immediately evident. And they last quite a while.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-14 07:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep. And the woman who first came forward about Bill Cosby all those years ago also withdrew her claim against him. Funny how all these years later the truth came out, isn't it?

To put it bluntly, you're being a victim blaming shitheel.

Re: Michael Fassbender

(Anonymous) 2015-01-14 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I realize that, and I'm sorry if you think I did not! Victims are pressured to withdraw their claims all the time and it is a terrible situation. That is doubly true when the abuser is a public figure.

All I tried to do was relate the known facts of the situation to the OP who does not know anything about the allegation. And as it stands, there is nothing KNOWN to substantiate the claim. It is entirely possible the physical evidence (of the multiple alleged instances of GBH) is simply being withheld for the victim's privacy.

If it is true, I would hope that Ms. Andrews and/or any other potential victims go forward with legal action, because that is unacceptable and so is any pressure to withdraw it.

Who cares about the other hundreds of people involved in the movies, let's boycott the movies and make them bomb hard because one guy working on them is a dick, amirite?

Re: Michael Fassbender

(Anonymous) 2015-01-14 07:25 pm (UTC)(link)
yes, you are right. He will stop getting work if he becomes a drag to the movies rather than a pretty face used to draw in the shallow shits who just care about their own vaginas.

I mean, jesus christ, this is not rocket science. Do you also support roman polanski because of all the people working on his movies?

Re: Michael Fassbender

(Anonymous) 2015-01-14 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Roman Polanski is not even vaguely comparable. The man was convicted in open court. Michael Fassbender has been accused by one person who has no evidence of a crime. Take your histrionics and apply them to something more worthwhile.

Re: Michael Fassbender

(Anonymous) 2015-01-14 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
This. There's literally no doubt that Roman Polanski raped someone. He was convicted of the crime and eventually pleaded guilty to it (...and then promptly fled the country. Great dude). There's really no comparison here

Re: Michael Fassbender

(Anonymous) 2015-01-14 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Except we're not discussing his guilt. I am answering the point that "People working on a movie should not be punished for the evil actions of one person" The comparison is not "Michael Fassbender is guilty and there for just like roman polanski" the comparisson is "Michael fassbender movies should suffer for michale fansbenders actions, regardless of whoever else it affects, just like rp's movies."

Be a better person and don't spread unsubstantiated rumors.

Re: Michael Fassbender

I thought he was great in Prometheus, which is an otherwise cracky movie, but which I watched solely for him playing the android David, who ruins everything in awesome ways.

I didn't ever think I'd watch this, but I'm likely going to now, haha.
