Part of me is really curious to know how bad it was, I only ever skulked around the fringes of the fandom so I never saw just how uh... Intense everything was back then.

And screaming at everybody who so much as doubted. Then when shit went down screaming at the creators and all of us for ruining it. Attempts to create a "true" ending bullshit with delusional levels of thinking they could pull some sort of movie off with canon voice actor involvement.

The funniest part is that Katara and Zuko hardly had any interaction in the show.

Eugh, I can understand being disappointed at a ship not happening, but I will never get people who decide to go and scream at the creators for not doing it, that's rude and way over the line.

I really don't understand this. I shipped Katara and Zuko (NOT in the fandom though, my goodness) and I really did not ship Korra and Mako. The former had chemistry; the latter felt forced, to me. Is it just me? I don't get the whole fire/water thing, I ship people, not their special powers

Nope, not just you. Shipped Zutara because the two had interesting character interactions. Never shipped Makorra; shipped Korrasami kind of jokingly since Book 1 since I wanted them to actually have interactions. Was overjoyed when said interactions started in Book 3 and were awesome.

Don't worry. I was going to bust in late to the party to comment the same thing, but you said it for me.

I mean, when it was just the promos, I thought "woohoo! hello new zutara pairing", and then after the first episode I found myself liking Bolin/Korra better, and then after the fourth or fifth I found myself liking Tahno/Korra better, and then soon enough I found myself liking Amon/Korra better...

By the end of it, Korra became my fandom bicycle with pretty much everyone OTHER than Mako.
