Season 3 was in a lot of ways apologies for season 1 and 2, touching upon similar themes but doing them much, much better.

Plus, I totally think that Korra's PTSD in season four was a response to how disappointed people were that there was no exploration of the period in which Korra had lost all her bending (save air) in season one.

A lot of things were kind of shuffled over in Book 1, and I really wish production had been less chaotic and they'd had more episodes to do character things. Saying FUCK ALL Y'ALL WE'RE DOIN' IT in Book 3 and in Book 4 in particular made so very many things so much better.

And the PTSD arc ... honestly, that was magnificent. So very, very well done.

okay this has nothing whatever to do with this secret but you know what I want to see? I want to see Mako later in life as a Peter Gunn-esque noir private detective who (like Mr. Gunn) uses a jazz club as his office, with Wu is the headline singer. I would watch the hell out of that and I am not even joking a little. I even made a lobby card out of an abandoned Will Ruzicka sketch and some original elements.

I think the evolution of Mako as a person from Book 1 through Book 4 is actually a really good setup for Private Detective Mako, and I won't go into details because of spoilers. But ... I really truly think it works and I'm thinking about adapting a Peter Gunn screenplay to Private Detective Mako (with credit to original of course) because I'm not a good fiction writer but I'm not too bad an editor and maybe that's close enough.

You could always try and find someone to commission for it! Hell, if it didn't involve sitting down and shotgunning four seasons of a TV show, I'd be up for it.

The problem is that that much research time costs extra. (Yes, yes, this is a show I want to watch myself sometime, but I mean in like, the next year, not the next three days.)
