Re: New to you
(Anonymous) 2015-01-15 12:48 am (UTC)(link)I liked seeing the version of the gods appearing young but not being "young gods". Though, it was difficult to tell the male gods apart. Their head gear was silly also.
I liked that the gods all wanted to help humans, respected human free will, and there weren't petty jealousies and such that are often in these kinds of movies (you know, where Hades is trying to undermine Zeus, or Ares is jealous Zeus loves Perseus more, etc.).
I also liked that Theseus seems to be a totally mortal man. He's never said to be the son of any of the gods, so his feats are all his own.
I also thought the villain was creepy and terrifying. The visuals were amazing. The punishments were disturbing. The only thing that I didn't really care for was that all the action at the end was kind of same-y. I had fight fatigue by the end. Also, it was weird there were only 6 gods. Would've liked to see more.
Overall, though, I enjoyed it thoroughly.
