Well, the adult realization that "Sixteen Going on Seventeen" is basically a Nazi recruitment song kinda... spoils things.

I think that if Liesl actually had let Rolf "take care of her," he would have tried to tell her how to think, which could indeed have ended with him convincing her that the Nazis were the friends of all that's good.
