Sad confession, yo:

I make rape jokes.

It's the only way I can cope with my history, honestly. I've even made fucking COMICS about it! I have actually made a fellow SJW laugh with one of my rape joke comics, and she was like, "Oh my god, this is so horrible, BUT IT'S STILL FUNNY."

And I'm like, yup. Because at some point, it starts getting so absurd that it becomes funny, and it's like, if I keep doing that, it'll hurt less.

That said, my rape jokes are, "Lolz, this is so horrifically awful I can do nothing but laugh," not, "Lolz, you got raped and I find your pain amusing."

This is exactly why I really dislike the idea of certain things being off-limits for humor: you never know WHY someone might be joking about it. And I certainly don't feel like it's my place to ask for reasons behind something like that, either.

Enh, even so, I could totally understand someone being made so uncomfortable by my jokes that they'd want me to knock it off. Gallows humor isn't for everybody, and I wouldn't want to make, say, a fellow survivor feel shitty because I want to tell my joke just that badly.
