I remember it being on the Wonderful World of Disney when I was little kid at the peak of my "Annie" phase, but I haven't watched it since then. The 1982 version was just so different to me that that's the one I fixated on. :/

(Anonymous) 2015-01-16 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
Oh maybe they just want to enjoy (or hate) on the current one.

Aw man, I have to choose between Kathy Bates and Quvenshane Wallis? Why so cruel, Internet?

(Anonymous) 2015-01-16 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
I thought this was the most well know version?

I'm pretty sure the most well known movie version is actually this one: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0083564/

Nah, I'll stick to the ones that don't use ableist fridge horror as the villain's final punishment.

Sorry, OP, the 1982 version is the one I always think of.

I think this is the only version I've actually ever seen.

Me too. Although I did see the version in the secret and liked it.

I love this version! Yes, it's probably the best adaptation and the casting is terrific! Audra McDonald as Grace? Kristin Chenoweth? Victor Garber? Yes please! I was the live-in nanny for a little girl who was called back for that version many times and just missed out. For fans of the current Annie, there were rumors that they wanted to cast this Annie with a black girl, so there you go. But Alicia Morton was adorable and did a great job (and if you've ever seen Odd Girl Out, she's in that as well, as the wanna be girl Tiffany who says "what a slut!").

I remember it! It's the reason I have refused to watch the TERRIBLE GARBAGE that constituted this year's remake.

Main thing I remember about this one isn't even from the movie itself. It was a short making-of feature they ran with it, in which Victor Garber is shaving his head for his role and he sings, "My hair will grow back tomorrow!"

(Anonymous) 2015-01-16 08:30 am (UTC)(link)
This is my favorite version, anon!

I loved this one, and I love it even more now as an adult fan of the musical theatre alumni:)

Text: I hate how no one ever seems to remember this version. It’s basically a perfect adaptation of the show.
