Complaining about too many fics on any subject isn't exactly a hobbyhorse. Getting defensive any time someone mentions SJ in a non-sun-shines-out-of-its-asshole way? That kinda is.

Depending on the fandom, that "few" is incredibly literal.

One of my fandoms, thanks to its demographic as being 18-22 Tumblrites, is wall-to-wall those two categories. I haven't seen anything different in months, and believe me I look because I crave something different. I don't write so redressing the balance isn't an option, but even if I could I'm not sure I'd think there was any point bothering - judging by the numbers, not many people share my wanting-different viewpoint.
