Yeah, this is kind of me as well. I normally write on the long side - less than 5k for a chapter doesn't even feel like a chapter to me, and a short oneshot is usually 3-4k, but I've written oneshots up to 20+k. Thing is, I can't crank this stuff out nearly as fast as tiny smutfics or fluffy things, so people lose interest fast.
My muse has been way down lately, and I'm so bummed over it.
/I know I don't deserve attention blah blah blah

Sort of OT but I find it sad (and tied into secret #6) that both writers who've replied to the AYRT have felt the need to qualify their feelings with "but I'm not seeking/don't think I deserve attention."
