Um... Jaime and Cersei had, like, the LEAST traumatic early home life of anyone in Westeros. They were the favored perfect children of the richest family in the country. Their father was a dick, yes, but less of a dick than, say, 50% of the fathers we've seen or heard about in that story. They didn't start fucking because they were desperately clinging together against a scary world; their world wasn't scary. They started fucking because both of them like getting what they want, don't like thinking about consequences, and look down on everyone who isn't them. That's... pretty explicit in the text.

They still had a pretty emotionally abusive father. They hay have had a less abusive childhood than most other people, but it wasn't some idyllic paradise like you're making it sound.

Nothing in that series is ever an idyllic paradise for anyone. Jaime and Cersei still had less abusive shit to deal with than most of the other characters (such as Tyrion), all of whom managed to keep from fucking their siblings. Their incest isn't a consequence of abuse, it's a consequence of their both being deeply creepy people.
