Fernand in The Count of Monte Cristo. Everything that comes down on him is entirely the result of his own backstabbing, and he kills himself only after he's lost everything for his treachery. Adaptations like to keep him alive until the end and give him an epic final battle with the Count, but I think his suicide fits with how slimy he really is.
