Fuck yeah I'll read all the Wuko. I'll even read nicely done makorra/masami but it'd have to be pretty good to make up for the pisspoor canon (i don't mind fucked up overcomplicated cheating misunderstanding angsting shithead dating in fanfic, but IN MY CANON?! NOOOOOFUCKOFF).
But I love the wuko bromance going on, it's nice Mako has a friend who isn't a) family or b) an ex.

Are your friends actual mako!hating or is it more hating on mako when he's fucking up on relationships. Cause the dude did start out pretty shitty but in the last seasons he made a good friend at least!

My friends hate Mako because of the fucking up on relationships (for some who like to focus on meta, being badly written while fucking up on relationships is more like it) and they think that makes him trash and irredeemable in all respects forever. I think that's going way too far, but it seems to be a common view in this fandom.
