As a reader, I also wish more people would give genfic a chance. Oddly enough, ff.net seems to have a greater appreciation for genfic.

Yeah, people always go on and on about how Ao3 is better, but it's really only better with certain things. It depends on both the fandom you're in and the type of fic you're looking for. Ao3's tag structure is suited a lot better for pairing specific searches.

When I'm on Ao3 searching for shipfic, I never even look at the main fandom tag, everything's already pre-filtered. If the people in OP's fandom are the same, they could possibly never even SEE their fic, let alone click on it to read it.
