Re: Favorite fanfiction
(Anonymous) 2015-01-17 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)This is really tough for me to choose but probably Not About Superheroes (A Private Little War) by AnnaFugazzi http://archiveofourown.org/works/747827?view_full_work=true
It's Steve/Tony (which I honestly don't like that much) but it helped me out so much when I was really really depressed a few months ago. I would read it whenever I got too low. It just made me feel so much better, like wrapping myself in a warm familiar blanket when I felt alone.
I'd probably pick Battle Fatigue by bonsai_bunny as a second choice. http://archiveofourown.org/works/2228751
It also really helped. It made me feel less crazy and alone. Although a big part of that is due to how much I connected with the fic because Steve ended up trying to kill himself exactly the way I had been thinking about going. (Shooting himself in the head in the bathroom). It just made me feel less isolated I suppose.
(Melodramatic anon is melodramatic).

(Anonymous) 2015-01-17 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)That's the point of Captain America, after all. He inspires us because he's a symbol of what we CAN be. The super-soldier serum took him to the limit of human potential, which means that we all have the strength to be him somewhere inside us.
