Annie on My Mind is a little angsty, but it's definitely not a tragedy. I've been told The Miko's Words and the Witch's Incantations is also hopeful.

You specified lesbian, not gay, but I'll make a token mention of Maurice. Also, Mysterious Skin is hopeful if you can get through a ton of angst along the way.

While I'm at it . . . I'll just drop this here. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GayAndLesbianFiction They're pretty good at specifying which books have sad endings.

I've actually had Maurice on my reading list for quite some time. Never heard of that second one, though. It looks interesting!
