I honestly think it's more in the media than IRL - not that it isn't IRL, but it's sort of like wearing glasses - people IRL are like "oh okay", but for some reason in Hollywood, if a sixteen year old gets glasses, she may as well have become a Scientologist.

I mean, yeah, being a virgin at my age is considered weird, but I think even that's a calmer reaction than the ones I've seen in movies/shows.

RL people: Ah. Okay.

TV people: YOU'RE A VIRGIN? OMG GET TO A SEX DOCTOR NOW OMG YOUR LIFE IS OVER.
