Tw: suicide

(Anonymous) 2015-01-18 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
My eczema refuses to heal. I haven't slept more than a few hours every night for two months because of the pain and itching. Three days ago it almost drove me to suicide.

God, that's absolutely terrible anon. This is probably a stupid question, but have you seen a doctor? (If you don't have insurance or can't pay I understand.)

I went through a period like that a few years ago where my eczema was so severe I could barely sleep and every waking moment was agony because of the constant itching. I felt like I was losing my mind. I did eventually see a doctor (they were booked) and get some cream and two shots. It helped a lot, but it took time to heal.

I hope you find something to help with your eczema, I really do. I know it can be difficult (and costly) finding something that works, but it can get better.

I'm sorry you are having such a terrible time! The itching is one of the worst parts of what I have. And if I do itch,it makes it much worse. Is eczema the same way? Has a doctor not been able to help? I know there are some home remedies but I have not tried any.

If you need someone to distract you from the itching you can always,
PM me.

This might or might not be of any help, anon, depending on where your eczema is located, and you may have already tried them.

But I get it on my hands and occasionally elsewhere, and I've found one thing that works for me is covering the rash with a self-adhesive hydrocolloidal bandage (the brand I currently use is Band-Aids Tough Pads, which around here I can only find at Wal-Mart, but there are others if you search online.) They help with both pain and itching, and encourage the stuff to heal quicker.

Good luck, I hope you find something that helps soon!
