What's the culture like on Cracked? I've been curious since I like a lot of the articles they've been publishing for a while but I reflexively avoid comments just about everywhere and I haven't looked at their forums.

a fairly large percentage of the posters are either vile or really stupid, something that the columnists themselves point out and mock every so often in their articles

That's the impression I got. I was just curious about how big the divide between the columnists and the people who like to comment is.

There's an article on Cracked today that I think shows a lot of what's good and bad about the comments there: http://www.cracked.com/blog/6-ways-to-keep-terrorists-from-ruining-world/ Read the article first for maximum impact, since a lot of the comments contain stupid arguments that he already brought up and countered in the article itself.

I read that this morning but it's the sort of thing where I'm even more inclined to avoid the comments because the arguments against it are some of my least favorite opinions there are. There's only so much cynicism and misanthropy I can take in one day.
